Welcome to Legoland!
No, it's not what you think. Yes, we've been to Legoland, several times. You and Daddy even have passes right now. But tonight's post is about your creativity and the imagination play you've developed over the last couple of months. It started with you getting into Daddy's wallet and taking out the cards. I got your Lego star wars wallet (that you got after seeing Jaren's wallet - you just had to have your own wallet after that) and gave you your Lego and Zoo passes, plus a couple of other cards. Then, you said, "Mom, you have to be the Lego person," and began looking around for something, I wasn't sure what. And I wasn't sure what being a Lego person meant. You took your work bench and moved it to the intersection in the hall, then told me again that I needed to be the Lego person. Oh, I get it! You want me to be the person who takes the passes at Legoland! So, I stood behind your workbench and said, "Welcome to Legoland!" You smiled the most adorable smile and then I said, "May I have your pass please?" You took your Lego pass out of your wallet, closed the wallet, and then handed it to me. I "swiped" the pass and handed it back to you. You beamed! I said, "You may enter Legoland now." Then you walked past the workbench. We did that a couple more times then you wanted to trade places. I was the one with the pass now. You were so adorable as the Lego person! Trying to sound so professional! You showed me all around Legoland too! You showed me the Lego cat (Oni) that was activated by pressing a button on the space shuttle. You showed me the Lego shark and the baby Lego shark. You showed me the Lego Batman car and several other "Lego" things. Then it was Daddy's turn. SO much fun!! Love your imagination!

A turtle for my nap
Today, as I was leaving for work, you walked up to me at the door and asked, "Mommy, do you sleep at your school?" Not quite sure why you would ask that question I said, "No, I sleep here." You made a thoughtful face, and realizing that I misunderstood you said, "Do you take naps at your school?" Understanding your train of thought now (you know we both go to school during the day and you take naps so you wanted to know if I did too) I said, "Sure, I take naps at my school." Then you handed me your turtle and said, "Here you go Mommy...for your nap." I almost cried. You are so sweet! I carried the turtle around with me all day and told everyone the story.

Roly-poly bugs
The last several nights we've been using your way cool magnifying glass to go outside and look at ants and other bugs in the yard. But, each time I ask if you want to hold a bug, you say no. It's been like that your whole life. You love to look but not touch. Tonight though, you held your first roly-poly bug. You held it while it crawled in your hand. You loved it. You let him go on the driveway and then picked him back up several times, finally setting it back in the grass next to his friends.
Where did I put those raspberries?
Tonight I was making us dinner. Nothing fancy as Daddy has soccer tonight. You requested dino nuggets. Daddy came home before soccer with some groceries while I was nuking your nuggets. Perfect, because we were woefully short on fruit. I put the strawberries in the frig and kept the raspberries out to put with your nuggets. Daddy said something to me so I left the kitchen for a moment. I came back to continue and could not find the raspberries anywhere. The house is still a mess from moving, so I looked all over the kitchen and in the frig a couple of times. Could not find them anywhere. Then I hear you say, "All gone." Then I hear Daddy say, "What was in that Kyle?" I come out to the living room to see you holding the plastic raspberry container with not a single raspberry left in it. Daddy says, "Did you eat all the raspberries?" You of course said, "Yes." We laughed and you said, "Did Daddy buy them for me to eat?" And we just giggled and said, "Yes." You are a growing boy right now. Eating us out of house and home. In addition to the entire container of raspberries, you had three nuggets and a bunch of blueberries, plus water. Then goldfish and milk an hour later. Don't grow too fast sweet boy!

That's not funny!
I can't believe it's been so long since I last wrote a post on this blog! Most of your history is on FB. But some stories can't be said in the short space on FB.
Today, we spent the day putting together the house some more. At one point in the afternoon, you came out from the end table in the living room. I think you must have bonked your head a bit. You were smiling and so I smiled back. Then you said, "It's not funny." But you were still smiling. I put my best poker face on and asked, "Are you okay?" But, Daddy had come in by that point and was giggling at our little exchange. You repeated, "That's not funny!" But, you were still giggling...I could tell you were trying not to giggle, but you couldn't hold it back. It was very cute. Then, Daddy tried to put on a straight face and said, "It's very, very sad." As soon as the word sad came out of his mouth, he burst into laughing, then I did, then you did. Next thing I know all three of us are belly laughing and we can't stop. It was hilarious! I love our little family!

You got your wings!
So tonight, as soon as Daddy got home from work, you asked Daddy for your wings back. He handed you your wings and you accepted them and put them in your pocket and said, "Thank you, Daddy. I put dem in my pocket."
You are beyond adorable!
You are beyond adorable!
Wings?
Last night, while you were taking a bath, you were lying on your belly with your head out of the water sloshing back and forth when you announced, "I can't get up."
Mommy: you can't get up?
You: No.
M: Why not?
Y: I don't have my wings.
M: Wings? I didn't know you had wings.
Y: Yeah, I lost dem.
M: Where did they go?
Y: Daddy take dem.
M: Well, we will ask Daddy for them when he gets home (he was at a soccer game). I didn't know you had wings.
Y: Yeth, Mommy, member? At [mumble something I can't understand].
M: At where? Take your binky out so I can understand you.
Y: [Blop goes the binky]. Member at Grantie Sue's?
M: Grantie Sue's?
Y: Yeth, when I would fly over Bobby and Rilyn?
M: [with a shocked look on my face because it can't really be that you remember me holding you flying over Bobby and Rilyn, and counters and couches, etc at Grantie Sue's when you were only 1 year old]
Yes, I remember when I would fly you over Bobby and Rilyn at Grantie Sue's.
Y: Yeah...and I had wings when I fly over Bobby and Riyln and tings at Grantie Sue's.
M: Oh, well we will definitely need to get those back.
Y: Yes, we will.
M: So, in the meantime, can you use your legs to get out of the bathtub?
Y: [enthusiastically] Oh...yeth, I can.
M: Whew!
Several times, when I would pick you up from Grantie Sue's after work, I would hold you in my arms in a Superman hold and "fly" you around Grantie Sue's. You loved it. And, apparently, at 2 1/2, you still remember it from when you were only one. You are amazing!
