It's a BOY!

This is probably the only time it's acceptable to post a picture like this on the Internet. :-) We are very excited! Now the job of name hunting begins. He will be ______________ Scott Corbett. If you have suggestions as to what to put in the blank, feel free to comment. Yes, Grandpa Greensfelder, we know that you think Kirk would be an absolutely wonderful first name. ;-) And yes, Jeff, we know you think Jeffrey would make the perfect first name. ;-)

Here are some more pictures...

Great Profile picture!

I'm number one...I'm number one!!!

Okay, this one's cool, but a little creepy...

4-month Belly Pic

Here it is, what you've all been asking for...a belly pic.

This tank top says this:

We couldn't resist...

Mom, Daughter, and an Outlet Mall...Watch Out!

Mom came to visit this weekend and we went maternity clothes shopping on a day that I felt half way decent. It was so much fun! And I am set for the pregnancy! (probably)

Hyperemesis Top 10

For those that don't know, hyperemesis is severe nausea and vomiting. I know...lovely, right? And, in my attempts to make this blog positive and make this pregnancy positive, this top 10 is for the top 10 BENEFITS of having hyperemesis of pregnancy. Here we go...

10. Having one's eyelashes grow longer.

When you're not wearing makeup for months on end, your eyelashes grow longer.

9. Saving on the food bill.

Self explanatory...when you're living off of Top Ramen, Macaroni & Cheese, and Scott's Magic Mashed Potatoes, the food bill is cheap!

8. Saving gas.

The last time I filled my tank was October 20th and I still have almost 1/2 tank of gas!

7. Saving on the water bill.

When one is showering only once or twice a week (I know - ewwww!), think of all the water you save. Also, I've been living in the same five leisure outfits that take minimal room in the washer.

6. Having an excuse for Christmas being late.

If you know us, we are either late or sending everything next day air to make it on time for Christmas. With Scott's knee surgery on December 16th and my still being quite ill, we actually had a valid excuse this year!

5. Finding gems of shows that you didn't know you were missing.

When all one can do is lie there with one's eyes closed breathing deeply and concentrating on keeping down food, listening to music or TV is about all you can do to help pass the time. I'm now thoroughly hooked on NCIS and several Animal Planet shows.

4. Not having to worry about gaining too much weight during the pregnancy.

Lost a bunch of weight in the beginning, but now I'm right on track with 9 pounds gained.

3. Not having to set an alarm clock.

Scott and I are sleepaholics. When his alarm goes off, I just smile knowing it's not for me. However, that also means that the day is starting and I have to start bracing myself for the nausea to begin.

2. Being reminded how wonderful your family, friends, and coworkers are.

SO much support! Everything from sympathetic ears to dinners to shopping! We don't know what we would do without such amazing people in our lives!

And the number 1 benefit of hyperemesis is...

1. Having a healthy placenta and a decreased chance of miscarriage.

It's a fact. Lots of nausea indicates lots of HCG being produced from healthy placental cells decreasing the chance of miscarriage. If I had a dime for everytime I've said that to myself to get me through the day...

4 Months

Yesterday was officially 4 months along and my goal was to start posting belly pictures each month. Well, you're getting this picture instead. I've been getting phenomenal headaches about once a week for the past seven weeks. This one is the worst. It started yesterday and has continued through today. And it's coupled with intense nausea...I'm having lots of fun. So, I'll post a belly picture when I'm in the land of the living again. Quinny, you have to appreciate my ice bag. :-)

Mommy's Back to Work

Okay first, I realize I have fallen victim to the trap of referring to myself in the third person. I don't know how it happened...it just did.

On Monday, I started working again. On Sunday I didn't know if I was going to make it and, although I didn't work full days, it felt SO good to be at work this week! I hope the worst of it is over!
